Mobile Privacy Policy

It is BIC (Cambodia) Bank Plc.’s responsibilities to protect your privacy regarding any information we may collect while operating our mobile banking services. This Mobile Privacy Policy applies to our BIC Mobile application. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting personally identifiable information you may provide us through the BIC Mobile. We have adopted this privacy policy (“Mobile Privacy Policy”) to explain what information may be collected on our BIC mobile app, how we use this information, and under what circumstances we may disclose the information to third parties. This Mobile Privacy Policy applies explains:

  • Information we collect or required permission as you use our services

  • How we use that information or permission granted

  • Privacy term and condition

BIC Bank collect information from our customer to provide better user experiences and enhancing our services to more flexible to satisfy our customer with the respect of follow proper privacy and security measures. BIC bank may collect information in the following ways:

Information You Give Us

  1. Personal Identifying Information

    We collect information to provide better digital banking experiences to all our customer. When you create banking account, you provide us with personal information that include your name, date of birth, email address, ID number or phone number. Even you are not sign in to BIC mobile, you might choose to provide us with information – like an email address to receive update about our banking services.

INFORMATION WE GET FROM YOUR USE OF BIC MOBILE APP

  1. Device Information and Local Storage

    BIC may collect your device token upon login to BIC mobile app or after successful authentication into BIC mobile. This information will include device model, version, manufacturer and firmware version. For the purpose of ensuring legitimate login from our customer devices.

    Furthermore, local storage permission may also need to store you bank statement once finished downloading from the BIC Mobile App.

  2. Location information

    BIC Mobile allows app to access your location while using mobile app to navigate nearby ATMs location or branches. BIC bank may use various technologies to determine location, including IP address.

  3. Contact information

    BIC Mobile required permission to read customer contact information for better user experience on mobile top up functions. This contact information is for display purposed only and the bank not proceed to storing user contact information at bank side.

  4. Biometric and Device Features

    Certain features activation may also require additional app permission from the users to enabled. Example when user prefer to user biometric authentication such as Face-ID or Finger Print for the mobile app login or transaction authentication instead of PIN / Password. Additional features, like camera also needed to allowed in order to proceed QR code scan for payment, take picture or change their profile picture.

Protection of Certain Personally-Identifying Information

BIC Bank discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only to those of its employees, regulator and affiliated organizations that (i) need to know that information in order to process it on BIC Bank’s behalf or to provide services available at BIC Mobile App, and (ii) that have agreed not to disclose it to others.

BIC Bank will not rent or sell potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information to anyone. Other than to its employees, regulator and affiliated organizations, as described above, BIC Bank discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only in response to a subpoena, court order or other governmental request, or when BIC Bank believes in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of BIC Bank, third parties or the public at large.

If you are a registered BIC banking account and have supplied your email address, BIC Bank may occasionally send you an email to tell you about new features, solicit your feedback, or just keep you up to date with what’s going on with BIC Bank and our products. We primarily use our blog to communicate this type of information, so we expect to keep this type of email to a minimum. If you send us a request (for example via a support email or via one of our feedback mechanisms), we reserve the right to publish it in order to help us clarify or respond to your request or to help us support other users. BIC Bank takes all measures reasonably necessary to protect against the unauthorized access, use, alteration or destruction of potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information.

Privacy Term and Condition

    1. Follow national bank of Cambodia ’s regulatory requirements and BIC Bank’s internal policies, you provide your express consent and agree that:
      • a) as part of BIC Bank’s KYC (Know Your Customer) process requirements, BIC Mobile may collect Personal Identifying Information from you; you provide warrantee and assurance that Personal Information associated by you through BIC Mobile are accurate, complete, and up-to-date. Further, you acknowledge and agree that failure to provide up-to-date Personal Information required by BIC Mobile will result in certain inconveniences and restrictions of access to BIC Mobile features.
      • b) Personal Information collected as part of your identity can be held by BIC Bank for the purpose of enabling you to use the services provided by BIC Bank;
      • c) BIC Bank can collect any information on your usage behavior for the purpose of security enhancements and user experience improvements;
    2. You provide your express consent and agree that BIC Bank may share your Personal Information with third parties to comply with a legal obligation, when BIC Bank believes in good faith that an applicable law requires it, at the request of governmental authorities pursuant to applicable law, to verify or enforce our contractual rights or other applicable policies, to detect and protect against fraud, or any technical or security vulnerabilities, to respond to an emergency, and/or so that third parties, such as third party payment processors, can provide services necessary for BIC Bank to provide any services under the Specific Terms and Conditions. If there is any breach of your information by a third party, you agree to release BIC Bank from any liability and pursue any legal action against such third party.

Information Security

The security of your Personal Information is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

We work hard to protect our BIC mobile app and any information that we hold from unauthorized access or unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction. In particular:

  • We review our information collection, storage and processing practices, including physical security measures, to guard against unauthorized access to systems.
  • We restrict access to personal information to GV employees, contractors, service providers and agents who need to know that information in order to process it for us and who are subject to strict contractual confidentiality obligations. They may be disciplined or their contract terminated if they fail to meet these obligations.

Although most changes are likely to be minor, BIC Bank may change its Mobile Privacy Policy from time to time, and in BIC Bank’s sole discretion. BIC Bank encourages visitors to frequently check this page for any changes to its Mobile Privacy Policy.
